15 Years of Visual Evolution
The Three Truths
In 2005, John Jackson and Micahel Trufant founded GreenScreenTV through volunteer partnerships with over 50 Baton Rouge area nonprofits. They focused on relationship building and offered a quick-turnaround, “retail” style video product. Jackson quickly realized that to survive the emerging technologies that enabled mass production of the current product GSTV offered, he refocused the business model to marketing and documentary style productions. In 2009, GSTV became Launch Media, marking the rebrand with a move into the Celtic Media Center, as one of the first tenants.
In October 2014, we moved into our new space in the heart of Downtown Baton Rouge, the Creative Bloc. This venture, the brainchild of John Jackson, is a creative campus catering to creative industry professionals. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be able to come to work everyday in an environment of our peers in graphic design, photography, web development, event production, brand consulting, and even other video production companies, all told there are over 10 other businesses, just a couple of steps away. We also operate a 2500 sq. ft. studio space, fully equipped for video production needs of any type.
Over the past 8 years, Launch Media has evolved into a full-service, solutions-based multimedia production company that specializes in developing communication tools to address the client’s workforce, brand, and consumer needs. Our company has an award-winning team of creative problem solvers. We approach each project as a unique opportunity to transcend communication barriers and create an effective visual solution that not only addresses the immediate needs of our clients, but also provides a lasting impact.
At Launch Media, we value philanthropic culture, not only because it’s the right thing to do, but it’s part of our foundation story. Through the relationships we cultivated with local, nonprofit organizations, we were able to grow as a company and gain a sense of corporate responsibility. We believe in nurturing the community we work in, even when our clients are everywhere. We are proud of our diverse portfolio and know that it is the result of a team who develop meaningful relationships with clients from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies to international organizations.
While we don’t like to pat ourselves on the back, we’ve been honored with numerous accolades for video production excellence in the form of Telly Awards and American Advertising Awards (AAA). In 2013, the company received the AAA “Best in Show Overall” award; the highest creative honor possible in local advertising. In 2014, Launch Media was honored by the local chapter of the Advertising American Federation with the “Company Service Award” for its dedication to the advertising community during the past year. Also, in 2013 and 2014, Launch Media received “LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Business” awards. Further, Launch Media’s Founder and CEO, John Jackson, was honored as Baton Rouge Business Report’s 2015 “Young Business Leader of the Year”.
In addition to these accomplishments, Launch Media is highly regarded for its work within the Corporate and Industrial industries working with such prestigious clients as McDermott International, Turner Industries, Shell Oil, GE and Albemarle Corporation. Launch Media offers both top down & peer-to-peer management communication platforms; which deliver consistent messaging for their clientele’s audience. Additionally, Launch team members are familiar with the hazards of filming in unusual environments; therefore we maintain a crew with top of mind awareness who are all certified with various safety and security credentials.
Big wins begin with shared vision. But everyone’s mind’s eye is different.
Visualizing the most succinct path to success and sharing it on a screen is the most practical method to overcome those differences.
Moving imagery is the most effective means of translating a concept, idea, product or strategy to a group of people.
1) Identify & learn the client’s ‘why’, their desired outcomes and needs.
2) Sift through the infinite variables to arrive at the big idea and plan.
3) Put all the right words on paper.
4) Measure twice, shoot once.
5) The concept becomes tangible.
6) Success is measured to inform the next action taken
