Unexpected: Eco-Tourism Marketing Campaign

West Feliciana & St. Francisville

Capturing a New Audience

Launch Media has had the pleasure of working with West Feliciana Parish in the past promoting its traditional tourism attractions such as historic homes, plantations, B&Bs, shopping and nature escapes. Recently, the parish sought to create a new video for a different demographic. This video aimed to capture the focus of young, active professionals by showcasing many of its eco-tourism offerings, such as hiking, biking, camping, kayaking and more. So, our job was to create a video to launch their Eco-Tourism Marketing Campaign. 

Launching On-Screen Talent

Most of the budget for the Eco-Tourism Marketing Campaign was allocated toward production rather than paying talent. So, as avid outdoorsmen and women, the Launch Media team was excited to take some of the starring roles and literally put our “play skills” to work while capturing all the Felicianas have to offer for those seeking outdoor adventure.

Production Day: A True Outdoor Adventure

The shoot was challenging as many of the hiking and biking locations were very remote. So, all cameras and production equipment had to be hauled in by our four-person crew. And, one shot sequence was a two-mile roundtrip hike!

Our creative goal was simple. Highlight all the fun of the daytime activities and close with all the opportunities for a relaxing evening, like happy hours, dining, and camping.

Thankfully, the town greeted us with open arms. And, our West Feliciana friends and family joined in to appear on camera.  The sheriff’s department even escorted us a mile up the Mississippi River for the kayaking sequence.

The final product captures the essence and unexpected beauty one will find in St. Francisville and the Felicianas.
