Launch Media Earns Highest Honors at the Baton Rouge ADDY Awards

(Baton Rouge, LA) – Premier Gulf South production company Launch Media earned top honors at the 2013 Annual Baton Rouge ADDY Awards hosted by the American Advertising Federation.

Launch Media received the highest honors, a Gold ADDY award as well as the Best Of Show Overall award for its work with the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office titled “D.O.A. Dead or Alive.”

“It is such an honor to be recognized overall among all the outstanding entries,” said John E. Jackson, Executive Producer/President of Launch Media. “It was a great night for the team and for Launch Media as a company.”

The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office commissioned Launch Media with documenting the 2012 Dead or Alive tragedy play featuring actual East Baton Rouge high school students and their parents. The goal of this project was to raise awareness amongst high school students of the dangers of drunk driving. The scene was staged in front of a crowd of spectators in Zachary, LA.

What is more impressive is that the Launch Media team shot all the footage in real time with little to no direction or retakes and the video was edited and color corrected in less than 24 hours for playback at a high school student assembly the following morning.

“The involvement of my office in this video has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my short tenure as DA,” said District Attorney Hillar C. Moore, III. “I have personally observed the effect that this video has on students, parents, and teachers in prevention education classes. By touching and changing young lives, this video will prevent the needless deaths or tragedies that would otherwise occur from drunk driving.”

The ADDY Awards is the world’s largest advertising competition representing creative excellence and recognizing all forms of advertising, from media of all types, creative of all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. It is unique among other advertising creative competitions in that it is the only competition that includes three levels of judging: local, regional, and national. Each Gold winner is forwarded on to the next level, from local to regional and regional to national.

Launch Media, currently headquartered at the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, has also recently announced their upcoming move downtown with the development of the Creative Bloc, a collaborative work environment for independent and visual media professionals.
