On March 4, 2023, Launch Media received three Addy Awards from the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge for video production work on Unexpected, an ecotourism spot with West Feliciana and St. Francisville, the company’s 2022 video reel, and The Beauty of Brody, a narrative fundraising video for the Emerge Center.
Gold Award for Best Regional/National Television Commercial
Launch Media received a Gold Award for Best Regional/National Television Commercial for Unexpected. The LM team developed, directed, and produced this .90 second commercial for West Feliciana Parish and St. Francisville’s Eco-Tourism Marketing Campaign. Through this project, WF aimed to attract young, active professionals through a visual showcase of the area’s eco-tourism offerings, such as hiking, biking, camping, kayaking and more. Our creative goal was to highlight all the fun of the daytime activities and close with all the opportunities for a relaxing evening, like happy hours, dining, and camping. Because most of the budget for this campaign was allocated toward production, the Launch Media team stepped in to take some of the starring roles to alleviate talent costs. Despite the challenge of shooting in remote locations for hiking and biking sequences, the final product captures the essence and unexpected beauty one will find in St. Francisville and the Felicianas.
Silver Award for Copywriting
Launch Media received a Silver Award for Copywriting for its updated reel of work in 2022, a .90 second spot crafted to reflect the highlights of projects completed since 2021. Learn more about the making of the reel in our Behind the Scenes series.
Silver Award for Branded Content and Entertainment Non-Broadcast
In addition, Launch Media received a Silver Award for Branded Content and Entertainment Non-Broadcast for The Beauty of Brody, an emotional feature narrated by an Emerge Center graduate with autism “in his own words” about his experience. Fundraising videos typically rely on interview footage with donors, faculty, and impacted families. But, we wanted to elevate this video with a new creative approach to convey the incredible impact of this Baton Rouge nonprofit through the perspective of people affected the most: the children. So, we connected with now fourth grader Brody Scanlan to hear about his experience in his own words and craft the video accordingly. The result is a beautiful story of Brody and his family and their journey with the Emerge Center.
